However, the low groundnut productivity in many developing countries remains a cause of concern to the scientific community and policy makers.
Groundnut crop is affected by several diseases and pests at different crop growth stages. It is essential that the growers know how to recognize the symptoms on time and take preventive and control measures to avoid yield reduction.
COMMON DISEASES OF GROUNDNUT:
Root rot, crown rot, white stem rot, fruit rot, brown spot, black spot, rust, bacterial wilt, scab, virus disease, root-knot nematode, etc.
COMMON PESTS OF GROUNDNUT:
Underground pests, cotton bollworm, Spodoptera litura, beet armyworm, aphids, thrips, spider mites, etc.
MANAGEMENT MEASURES IN GROUNDNUT GROWTH STAGES
Sowing
Rotate crops with corn and other grass crops, and choose the seeds with resistance to diseases and pests. According to the records of soil-borne diseases and underground pests, fungicides can be mixed with insecticides for seed treatment, such as Fludioxonil, Metalaxyl-M and Imidacloprid, Thiamethoxam, and Clothianidin. Seedling Stage

From Flowering, Pegging to Pod Fill, Maturity Stage
In the early stages of leaf diseases, such as brown spot, black spot, rust, etc., the biological pesticides (Bacillus subtilis, etc.) or chemical fungicides (Epoxiconazole, Pyraclostrobin, and Azoxystrobin, Difenoconazole, etc.) are recommended.
